P2P Conference 2022

The annual Pathways to Prosperity National Conference and the Pathways to Prosperity Conference for
Local Immigration Partnerships and Réseaux En Immigration Francophone took place this past quarter in
Ottawa from Monday, November 14 to Wednesday, November 16, 2022. The TNLIP team attended this
conference to celebrate it’s 10th year anniversary and return to an in-person conference, with a twist: the
hybrid format. The event was opened by the Honourable Minister of Immigration, Sean Fraser, and the three
days that followed explored various topics honouring the foundations of immigration and settlement in
Canada, providing LIPs and RIFs an opportunity to learn from each other, grow together, and plan for the
future. The event was attended by over 550 participants in person and over 500 virtually, comprising of LIPs
and RIFs, researchers, service providers, government officials, and representatives from across Canada.
Some topics participants explored over the three days included learning from the recent refugee
resettlements in Canada, impressions on immigration in urban vs. rural communities, Indigenous and
Newcomer Relations, the importance of collaborations during challenging times, bridging barriers in access
to services for temporary residents and EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion). P2P also focused on teaching
service providers enhanced leadership strategies, improved service delivery models, funding allocation
techniques, and best practices.
