This 2 hour session is tailored to professionals in the newcomer serving sector and the health care sector who work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including the East Asian communities. This capacity building event is meant to bring awareness to the topic of cultural competence, cultural norms, barriers to access and strategies on how to be more culturally proficient when working with clients from these communities, while keeping in mind the unique challenges they face, and how practitioners can communicate effectively in order to serve these communities better.
