The boundaries of NET LIP are Steeles Avenue to the North, Caledonia/Allan Road/and Dufferin Street to the West, St. Clair West Avenue to Victoria Park and Lake Ontario to the South, and municipal boundary with Pickering to the East.

mission

NET LIP is a community planning and action table bringing together diverse cross- sectoral stakeholders to work collaboratively on building welcoming communities for newcomers in North York and Scarborough.

Vision

Our members shared the following the vision of communities in Toronto North and East where newcomers can access stable housing, meaningful work, responsive services, and a genuine sense of belonging — supported by a coordinated, equitable, and community-driven settlement ecosystem.

Further, in welcoming communities:

  • Newcomer voices directly inform strategic priorities; newcomers co-create programs and co-lead planning and evaluation efforts, and feedback loops exist to actively adapt strategies and services to changing community needs;
  • Service providers are well resourced and work together to coordinate programming, share resources, avoid duplication, prevent fragmentation, and improve access to services. Services are culturally safe, trauma-informed,
    newcomer-focused, and offered in multiple languages and accessible locations;
  • Systems are transparent, responsive, and accountable and lead to equitable access to services. This is achieved through willing collaboration of governments, non- profits, and the private sector.

Mandat
