This new working group, established in Winter 2026, aims to advance equitable systems, inclusive community engagement, and improved access to opportunities for newcomers and equity-deserving populations across North East Toronto.
Between 2026 and 2028, the Work Group will focus on strengthening collaboration among community partners to address systemic barriers impacting newcomer integration and belonging. Particular attention will be given to issues related to housing access, anti-racism, equity-informed practices, Truth and Reconciliation, and the role of community and faith-based organizations in supporting newcomer settlement and inclusion.
Through cross-sector collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coordinated action, the Work Group seeks to identify service gaps, promote equitable practices, and support initiatives that improve access to resources, services, and opportunities for diverse newcomer communities.
