TNLIP, in collaboration with TNO – The Neighbourhood Organization’s SWIS Program, hosted an insightful webinar on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, titled “Understanding the Experiences of Ukrainian Youth.”
This 60-minute session was designed for service providers and frontline staff supporting newcomer communities, with a particular focus on Ukrainian youth who have arrived in Canada since the start of the war. Facilitated by Olha Ihnatova, Settlement Counsellor at TNO, the webinar provided practical strategies, valuable insights, and essential resources to enhance support for Ukrainian youth and families during their resettlement journey.
Attendees explored key topics, including:
- The trauma of displacement and its impact on youth,
- Challenges in education and integration,
- The importance of culturally responsive, trauma-informed support.
