On April 27, 2025, the NET LIP hosted an informative Housing Learning Series Session #1: Untangling the Language of the Housing Crisis. This session represents a collaborative effort by the NET LIP Newcomer Housing Task Group, established in early 2025.
This informative session, the first session of the Housing Learning Series, is tailored for frontline staff in the settlement and immigrant sector—including housing workers, settlement workers, mental health workers, employment workers, and others—to better understand key housing terms and concepts commonly used in Canada. The session has built confidence in explaining rental processes, housing types, and tenant rights—enabling staff to provide clearer, more effective support to clients navigating the housing system.
