TNLIP Settlement Strategy for 2021-2025
As we head into our ninth year, the Toronto North Local Immigration Partnership (TNLIP) continues to build a responsive and equitable service system for newcomers in the North York area while responding to the challenges faced by our member agencies and the community.
In collaboration with our member agencies, we continue to focus on our three pillars: Health & Wellbeing; Employment & Labour Market; and Settlement & Language. These areas address the many barriers experienced by newcomers in receiving culturally appropriate healthcare, challenges in finding suitable employment, and accessing settlement services.
We have organized our Key Priorities into five impact areas:
1
Service Coordination
Supporting collaboration and coordination among service providers and stakeholders in Toronto North.
2
Research and Advocacy
Exploring trends, gaps, and best practices. Supporting reform and innovation where relevant.
3
Knowledge Sharing
Information transfer and communication with members to keep informed of upcoming trends and challenges for newcomers.
4
Capacity Building
Increasing member ability to address new challenges and excel in existing service areas.
5
Systems Change
Working towards a better future for newcomers by looking at settlement as a whole and boosting positive system functions, working towards gradual changes that help newcomers in the long term.
