On October 24, 2012 Toronto North LIP held an All-Council Meeting to review Toronto North Newcomer Settlement and Employment Strategy. Over 35 Council members attended the meeting to learn about the findings of the research in the communities that had no prior LIP involvement, discuss the structure and processes of the Council, receive updates on workgroups, and provide feedback on the Strategy.
On September 12, 2012 we held our second workgroup meeting to identify the strategic directions, action areas and activities for this year. Please see the attached Agenda, Minutes and Draft Strategy of the health workgroup for more information.

On July 26, 2012 a group of newcomer service providers interested in collaboration on newcomer health issues in Toronto North came together to share past experiences (achievements and challenges) and discuss regional opportunities. Meeting Agenda attached.
A group of newcomer employment service providers and other interested parties serving newcomer communities in Toronto North gathered to discuss the possibiliites for regional cooperation.
On June 15, 2012 the first work planning meeting of TN LIP Settlement, Language and Orientation Workgroup was held. The group shared local achievement and challenges, reviewed regional strategic directions and discussed regional priorities. Meeting Agenda attached.
On May 29th, 2012 over 65 representatives of the former neighbourhood Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPS) from Lawrence Heights, Bathurst-Finch, Don Valley and North York East came together to meet and greet each other, learn more about the modernization of Toronto LIPs and celebrate the creation of the new regional Toronto North LIP.
