Network Research Project Report- February 2013

Inter-agency networks play a vital role in addressing community needs, creating welcoming communities, working with vulnerable populations and being a stimulus for community mobilization. Some networks have the mandate and capacity to engage in collaborative planning, coordination and integration of services, while others focus on advocacy, information sharing, and reviewing and analyzing the demographic and policy changes that impact their network members’ work.

The purpose of the “Network Research Project” was to map networks operating across the North region of Toronto, learn from networks’ experiences of collaboration, identify commonalities in priorities and needs, and better understand how networks connect with and serve newcomer immigrants.
This document summarizes the findings of 25 interviews conducted with network chairs or coordinators.
